The Arab Gulf is filled with dozen of native language groups and hundreds of languages of immigrant and migrant workers.
From the existing culturally background of the region, Holy Scripture must be in a high Arabic language--much as in the 1500s the Bible only counted if it was in Latin. But Martin Luther broke the rules and brought the Bible into the common tongue of the people.
In the Gulf through OMT we aim to move the concept of scripture from a book that is boring and impossible to understand--to letter from the Father, through the Son, and by the Spirit to each and every one of our hearts. It is the Father's very word to us. The Good News meant for every tongue.
We need prayer
In the region the body of Christ is growing rapidly. Yet, it is still with much difficultly, fear, opposition, and persecution that believers follow and gather.
The great challenge before us it to find believers in these language groups with the desire to translate the Bible and are willing to risk their livelihood if not their lives to do so.
You will notice languages from Iran included in the Arab Gulf list below. There are many believers are being walked with here in across region and we are believing for open doors of OMT into these people groups.
Please join with us in praying.
Pray this OMT pray daily at 2:31 pm
Father we pray, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified among the ________ people (2 Thes 3:1). Send forth laborers (Luke 10:2), strengthen translators (Col 1:9), and raise up day and night (Luke 18) worship and prayer (Rev 7:9) in Jesus name.
